Family Holiday Time

The holidays were jammed packed this year! Kids were busy with hockey and volleyball which has us on the road constantly but we just managed to find time to decorate the house and enjoy some family time. It was such a hectic schedule between work and kids but the holidays are so magical so I find it just so much fun!

We always spend the holidays between my family and my in-laws. It’s a great time to catch up and reflect on the year. Lots of laughs and good wine…LOL!

We spent the entire day on Christmas in our pajamas just relaxing (which we all needed). We had a coffee and our traditional yummy Christmas bake. Guess what I got for Christmas..LOL! Well …our old machine went right before Christmas Eve so Santa delivered our new LG washing machine from Lowes.

I was hosting dinner later that day so I made the traditional turkey dinner with garlic mash potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, fresh vegetables. I don’t have a large dining room table so I usually put two tables together and use a board on top and cover with a beautiful white table cloth and it works!! That way we can all eat together. My parents stayed the night which was so amazing since they don’t do it often. My dad has trouble using my stairs but this year he was in good health – so blessed! We didn’t have any travel plans during the break but the kids really enjoyed staying home, being with their friends and of course staying up late!  My son is crazy about Fortnite so it was a challenge not have it on it constantly – something we’ll have to work on in the new year.

Boxing Day was just a day of relaxing, watching movies and of course more eating and drinking with friends and family – pure joy!

I work everyday with an amazing team so even though I worked some of the holidays, it was wonderful to share time with them as well.

It’s now 2019 and I’m excited to see what lies ahead! Looking forward to trying new ways to get healthy with the Oh She Glows cookbook that I got over the holidays! Lots of new adventures ahead!!
